Shoreline Riders, Inc.

About Us ~ Club Bylaws ~ Club Rules

The Shoreline Riders, Inc. is an equestrian organization that was formed in 1961. The founding members purchased five acres of land on Turner Road in Fort Bragg where they built an arena and clubhouse. Through the efforts of club members over the years, we now have a great facility available to us for all types of horse activities.

Club structure

Shoreline Riders, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, governed by an annually elected Board of Directors. The board consists of a President, immediate Past President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, six voting Board members, two alternate Board members, and two nonvoting Junior members all elected from the membership at large. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Fridays of each month at the SRI Clubhouse (30601 Turner Road, Fort Bragg), beginning at 7:00 pm. During the winter months, meetings are held only on the second Thursday of the month. Meetings are open to everyone. In addition to Club business, guests are often invited to speak on a variety of local horse related issues. .....Once a month, SRI publishes a newsletter usually following the first meeting of each month which is mailed to all club members. The newsletter lists the club officers, and their contact information, upcoming events, reports and items of interest regarding club activities, periodic articles about horse health and training, and classified ads. Club members may submit horse related announcements of club interest and place ads for free. SRI members have a wide range of interests, including trail riding, horse shows (English and Western riding and jumping), play days, roping, rodeos, dressage, driving, parades, and drill team. Our membership includes a variety of horse breeds, from miniatures to drafts. The SRI Membership Roster lists members’ specific interests.

Membership privileges

As a member, you may participate in all club activities. You may ride in the arena and use the arena equipment (jumps, trail obstacles, poles, barrels, etc.) at any time, except during scheduled events. These events are posted in the annual Calendar of Events and the monthly newsletter. When using the arena, please be considerate of other riders. If you use any equipment, be sure to put it back into storage when you’re finished. Please lock the equipment, and close the gate behind you when you are finished. Bathrooms and a phone are located in the clubhouse. SRI contracts with a caretaker, who lives on the grounds and takes care of the daily chores. Please respect their privacy.

Membership rules

It is every member’s responsibility to know the rules and abide by them. All members are provided an SRI Rules Book. The rules exist mainly for the safety of all of us. Remember, SRI members may ride on our grounds at any time. Due to our insurance coverage, non-members may be on the grounds only when accompanied by an SRI member, and may ride only during scheduled public events. (Such as horse shows).
